Officially join the Mercyhurst community!
Congratulations, new Lakers! You did it! You’ve made it through college applications and set yourself on the road to a bright future at Mercyhurst. For more than 90 years, Mercyhurst students and graduates have been leaders in their fields, dedicated to making a positive impact in the world. We’re proud and excited to have you as a part of this tradition. This is your moment. Carpe Diem.
All that’s left are a few quick steps to officially join our vibrant and diverse Mercyhurst community. Welcome to the Laker family!
Confirm Your Spot Today
This is the most important step. Once it’s done, you can relax, knowing that come fall, there’s a place just for you at Mercyhurst. Please complete your Intent to Enroll form and submit your $250 (non-refundable) enrollment deposit, and you’ll be all set! You can do so either online through your Admissions Portal or by mail.
Confirming your enrollment to save your place at Mercyhurst is a two-step process that occurs through your Admissions Portal.
(If you applied to Mercyhurst using the Mercyhurst Application, the Admissions Portal is the site you used to submit your application, accessible at apply.mercyhurst.edu. If you applied to Mercyhurst using the Common App or Coalition App, you should have received an email with the details and login credentials for using Mercyhurst’s Admissions Portal.)
First, you will need to formally accept your Offer of Admission. Then you will need to submit your enrollment deposit.
To confirm your Offer of Admission:
- Log in to your Admissions Portal. You will see a Status Update informing you of your acceptance to Mercyhurst. Click on the link to view your acceptance letter.
- When you return to your Admissions Portal, you will see a Forms heading. Under it, you will see the option to “Reply to Offer Of Admission.” When you click that link, you will be prompted to either accept or decline the Offer of Admission. (We hope you choose to accept!) Either way, you need to type your full, legal name to confirm, and then click “submit.”
To submit your enrollment deposit:
- After you’ve accepted the Offer of Admission, when you return to your Admissions Portal, you will see you have a payment due for your $250 enrollment deposit. Click on the link and add your payment information to submit your deposit.
- If you pay by credit card, your deposit will be credited within minutes. If you pay via a checking account, the payment will clear in about five business days. You’ll receive an email – which serves as your official receipt – when we receive the payment.
Congratulations—you’re officially a Mercyhurst Laker!
Confirm by Mail
In your green acceptance box, you should have received an Intent to Enroll form along with your acceptance letter. To confirm your enrollment, please use the self-addressed return envelope to mail that form and a $250 check (payable to Mercyhurst University) for your confirmation deposit to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.
If you don’t have your Intent to Enroll form handy, you can download a blank one here.

National College Decision Day
Although National College Decision Day—the date by which most seniors formally make their college choice—has historically been May 1, in light of the challenges posed by the COVID-19 crisis, Mercyhurst is joining many other colleges and universities in moving Decision Day to June 1. We understand the need for flexibility at this time, and if you need additional time to make your decision, we will be happy to accommodate you.
Once you’re officially part of the Mercyhurst family, our attention turns to the fun and excitement of starting this next chapter in your life! We’d welcome the opportunity to offer you a glimpse into your life as a Laker during a campus visit. And there are plenty of chances to connect with your future classmates and start making friends. From here, among other to-do items, you can register for a summer orientation session (several dates are available throughout the summer). August will be here before we know it, so let’s get started!
Be on the Lookout
We’ll be in touch this summer about orientation sessions, where you’ll learn all the logistics of campus life, like where to eat and what to bring. If you have any questions about anything along the way, please contact us at:
