High School Articulation Agreements

    The Corry Area School District and Mercyhurst University have developed an articulation agreement. Students completing a prescribed list of courses at the high school level and earning a grade of B or better are eligible to receive waivers for courses within Mercyhurst’s REACH curriculum.

    The Girard School District and Mercyhurst University have developed an articulation agreement. Students completing a prescribed list of courses at the high school level and earning a grade of B or better are eligible to receive waivers for courses within Mercyhurst’s REACH curriculum.

    The Harbor Creek School District and Mercyhurst University have developed an articulation agreement. Students completing a prescribed list of courses at the high school level and earning a grade of B or better are eligible to receive waivers for courses within Mercyhurst’s REACH curriculum.

    Mercyhurst Preparatory School and Mercyhurst University have developed an articulation agreement. Students completing a prescribed list of courses at the high school level and earning a grade of B or better are eligible to receive credit for courses within Mercyhurst’s REACH curriculum. Additionally, this agreement formalizes course equivalencies for International Baccalaureate (IB) courses completed with a grade of B or better.

    The Millcreek Township School District and Mercyhurst University have developed an articulation agreement. This agreement provides waivers or articulated credit for as many as 18 credits in math, science, language, history, and education.

    The North East School District and Mercyhurst University have developed an articulation agreement. Students completing a prescribed list of courses at the high school level and earning a grade of B or better are eligible to receive waivers for courses within Mercyhurst’s REACH curriculum.

    Saint Edward High School (SEHS) and Mercyhurst University have completed an articulation agreement. SEHS students completing a prescribed list of International Baccalaureate (IB) courses at the high school level and earning a grade of B or better are eligible to receive credit for courses within Mercyhurst’s REACH curriculum, including English, Biology, Math, Spanish, History, and others. This agreement formalizes university course equivalencies for approximately 30 SEHS IB courses.

    The Wattsburg Area School District and Mercyhurst University have developed an articulation agreement. Students completing a prescribed list of courses at the high school level and earning a grade of B or better are eligible to receive waivers for courses within Mercyhurst’s REACH curriculum.

    The Union City Area School District and Mercyhurst University have developed an articulation agreement. Students completing a prescribed list of courses at the high school level and earning a grade of B or better are eligible to receive waivers for courses within Mercyhurst’s REACH curriculum.

College and Graduate Program Articulation Agreements

    Mercyhurst University and the Mercyhurst Education Department value the active CDA credential and on-the-job learning of the early childhood workforce. As a recognition of the academic content and hours invested in earning the CDA credential, Mercyhurst University will award nine (9) credits for an active CDA credential. The following courses will articulate for a currently employed early childhood employee with an active CDA credential:

    • EDUC 105: Health & Wellness (3 credits)
    • EDUC 107: Early Foundations (3 credits)
    • EDUC 108: Language and Literacy (3 credits)
    1. A student who completes all coursework in the Corry Regional Leadership program may petition for graduate credits in the program in Organizational Leadership. A written portfolio describing the leadership training experience must be submitted to and approved by the director of the Organizational Leadership program. This portfolio must be a synthesis of key leadership concepts, and its content must be discussed with the director before submission
    2. Evidence of completion of coursework from the Corry Leadership program must be supplied to the university in the form of a transcript or some other official document
    3. These credits will be awarded on a Mercyhurst College transcript upon matriculation in an undergraduate or graduate program at Mercyhurst. These credits will meet the requirements in Mercyhurst’s Organizational Leadership curriculum
    4. A maximum of three credits may transfer from the Corry Regional Leadership program

    Physics

    Mercyhurst students majoring in physics, after completing only three years and the requisite courses, may be eligible to enroll at Duquesne University’s B.S. in Engineering program. Students will earn a B.S. in Physics from Mercyhurst after completing a two-year Engineering program at Duquesne University. Program options include 3+2. Eligibility requirements include:

    • 2.0 GPA
    • C grades in all Physics courses

    Law

    3+3 with Duquesne Law School permits a Mercyhurst junior to articulate to Duquesne’s Law School, and after their first year at Duquesne, their law school credits articulate back to Mercyhurst to finish their bachelor's degree.

    The Mercyhurst University-Jamestown Community College (JCC) Articulation Agreement allows JCC students who complete associate degrees in programs, ranging from Business, Accounting, Liberal Arts, Science, and more, to immediately be admitted into Mercyhurst baccalaureate degree programs. Students from JCC can articulate 60 credits or more from Jamestown Community College into Mercyhurst programs; this means that JCC students start at Mercyhurst as juniors and can complete in two years.

    Students who meet GPA requirements may be eligible for scholarships.

    JIBC credits transfer into the Mercyhurst Master’s in Intelligence Studies, saving JIBC students from five to seven courses.

    Mercyhurst students may be eligible for early acceptance to the Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine program. Program options include 4+4 and 3+4. Eligibility requirements include:

    • Overall GPA of 3.2
    • Possible specific admission exam scores

    Mercyhurst students may be eligible for early acceptance to LECOM’s Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine program. Program options include 4+4 or 3+4. Eligibility requirements include:

    • Overall GPA of 3.4
    • Science GPA of 3.2
    • Possible specific admission exam scores

    Mercyhurst students may be eligible for early acceptance to LECOM’s Doctor of Dentistry program. Acceptance may occur after junior year at Mercyhurst, and program options include only 4+4. Eligibility requirements include:

    • Overall GPA of 3.4
    • Science GPA of 3.2
    • Possible specific admission exam scores

    Mercyhurst students may be eligible for early acceptance to LECOM’s Doctor of Pharmacy program. Program options include 4+3, 3+3, or 2+3. Eligibility requirements include:

    • Overall GPA of 3.4
    • Science GPA of 3.2
    • Possible specific admission exam scores
    1. A student who has completed any two levels of the Professional Leadership Series, Level One: Fundamentals of Management; Level Two: Principles of Leadership; or Level Three: Entrepreneurial Leadership, may petition for graduate credits in the program in Organizational Leadership. A written portfolio describing the leadership training experience must be submitted to and approved by the director of the Organizational Leadership program. Three graduate credits will be awarded for the training experience supported by an approved portfolio
    2. A maximum of three credits may transfer from the Lord Leadership Series to Mercyhurst
    3. The credits will count toward the nine required elective credits
    4. The course will transfer in as the Lord Professional Leadership Series on the student’s transcript
    5. All portfolios and any other documentation will be placed in the student’s permanent file in the office of the director of the program in Organizational Leadership

    The Mercyhurst-Northeast College of Health Sciences Articulation Agreement creates 3+3 and 4+3 arrangements for Mercyhurst undergraduates in science programs to immediately be admitted into the Northeast College of Health Sciences Doctorate of Chiropractic (D.C.) program. Mercyhurst programs include Applied Forensic Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, Exercise Science, Geology, Physics, Pre-Athletic Training, and Sports Medicine.

    Students who meet GPA requirements may be eligible for scholarships.

    Mercyhurst students may be eligible for early acceptance to Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine program. Program options include only 4+4. Eligibility requirements include:

    • Overall GPA of 3.5
    • Possible specific admission exam scores
