Joffrey Ballet School’s 2025 Audition Tour stops at Mercyhurst

Aspiring dancers in the Erie region are invited to audition for the illustrious Joffrey Ballet School at Mercyhurst University on Sunday, Feb. 2. The university’s Department of Dance is among the sites chosen across the U.S. and 24 other countries to host the Joffrey’s 2025 Worldwide Audition Tour.

This annual audition tour is an exciting opportunity for dancers, ages 8 to 25, to be considered for acceptance, placement, and potential merit-based scholarships for the Joffrey Ballet School’s 2025 summer intensives. The auditions held at Mercyhurst will be in Ballet and Jazz & Contemporary.

“We are honored to be part of the Joffrey Ballet School’s Audition Tour,” said Mercyhurst Dance Chair C. Noelle Partusch. “This is an incredible opportunity for aspiring dancers in our area to showcase their talent and take a step toward achieving their dreams with one of the world’s most renowned dance institutions."

Audition Schedule at Mercyhurst University

For Ballet 1: Check-in: 10-10:30 a.m.; Auditions: 10:30 a.m. to noon.

For Jazz & Contemporary 1: Check-in: Noon to 12:30 p.m.; Auditions: 12:30-2 p.m.

(Mercyhurst is located at 501 E. 38th St. in Erie; its dance studio is on the first floor of Zurn Hall.)
