What better way to celebrate Women’s History Month at Mercyhurst University than by honoring the women who started it all—the Sisters of Mercy—and those women who continue to sustain their legacy nearly 100 years later.

The Mercyhurst Alumni Office has planned a March observance replete with historic, engaging, and celebratory events. The itinerary calls for four social events accompanied by daily highlights on social media honoring the women of Mercyhurst.

Sisters of Mercy Panel

For starters, faculty, staff, and alumni are invited to hear from Sisters of Mercy who are also Mercyhurst alumnae during a panel discussion on Wednesday, March 5, from 7 to 8 p.m. You can join the conversation in person at Mercy Heritage Room or watch via livestream. Director of Alumni Engagement and event organizer Lindsay Frank ’12 ’14M will moderate as Sisters share stories about their predecessors and those who helped to shape Mercyhurst University.

Participating Sisters include Sr. Mary Ann Bader '73, Sr. Mary Felice Duska '64, Sr. Lisa Mary McCartney '71, Sr. Natalie Rossi '66, and Sr. Patricia Whalen '63.

Virtual Mercyhurst-Made Panel

All are welcome to hear from Mercyhurst alumnae, who are members of the Board of Trustees, as they share insights about how their careers and lives have been shaped by their alma mater. The panel, moderated by Vice President for Advancement Chrystie Raymond, takes place on Thursday, March 13, at 7 p.m. via Zoom.

Participating trustees include Rosemary Durkin '77, Peggy Pietraszek '68, Victoria Reider '78, Dinorah Sanchez '10, and Barbara Wenig '95.
