Global Meetings Industry Day: Mercyhurst’s Zohos to address generational shifts in hospitality

Peter Zohos, dean of the School of Business & Applied Business at Mercyhurst University, will play a prominent role in this year’s Global Meetings Industry Day (GMID), a day of advocacy highlighting the powerful impact of meetings, trade shows, conferences, and events on people, businesses, and communities when he delivers the keynote address at Pittsburgh’s local observance.
Hosted by Pittsburgh’s Meeting Professionals International (MPI), the event takes place at 2 p.m. at Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh Music Hall on Thursday, April 3, as organizations around the world participate in their own observances. MPI’s theme focuses on generational differences in hospitality, for which seasoned hospitality practitioner and educator Zohos is ideally suited. His talk is titled “Thriving in a Multigenerational Team.”
"The hospitality industry thrives on collaboration, and understanding generational dynamics is key to building stronger, more innovative teams,” he said. “By embracing these differences, we create workplaces that are not only productive but also inspiring."
Zohos maintains extensive experience in hospitality operations in the areas of lodging, sales, and food & beverage, having worked for Marriott, HYATT, DoubleTree, ARAMARK, and Embassy Suites hotels. He has been on opening teams of many hotels and restaurants, as well as owning his own businesses. Besides leading the business school at Mercyhurst, Zohos teaches Hospitality, sharing his many years of operational experience.
