Pete Benekos
Professor Emeritus
Dr. Benekos is a Professor Emeritus in the Criminal Justice Department. He has conducted research and published in the areas of juvenile justice, corrections, and public policy, and he is the co-author of a number of books.  Some of the titles include:  The Juvenile Justice System: Delinquency, Processing, and the Law, 7th edition, Controversies in Juvenile Justice & Delinquency, 2nd edition, and Crime Control, Politics, and Policy, 2nd edition. Dr. Benekos is a recipient of the Mercyhurst University Teaching Excellence Award and received the Founders Award and the Outstanding Mentor Award from the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences (ACJS).
