Mark Simpson is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Financial Planner (CFP).* He is a member of the Institute of Certified Financial Planners, American Institute of Certified Public Accounts and Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is also a Quickbooks Certified ProAdvisor and a Personal Financial Specialist.
Mr. Simpson has a B.A. in Accounting and Finance from Mercyhurst University and an M.B.A. from Pennsylvania State University. He attended Washington School of Law taking various Master’s level tax classes including Gross Income Tax Principles, Deduction Provisions under the Revenue Code, Tax Credits, Alternative Minimum Tax, Tax Accounting, Taxation of Partnerships, Estate Gifts Trust Taxation and Estate Planning, and Taxation of Exempt Organizations.
Mr. Simpson has over 30 years of work experience which includes five years in public accounting, five years with PNC Bank’s Trust Tax Department, one of the largest financial institutions in the United States, preparing fiduciary, individual and estate tax returns in addition estate, retirement and tax planning for their Wealth Management Group. Currently Mr. Simpson works in private industry as the Chief Financial Officer/Controller for a $20 million publishing company. He also continues to maintain his own tax practice servicing approximately 100 clients including individuals, partnerships and corporations.
