Mariana Mathewson Bernstein is a musician, composer, and music educator. She teaches K-5 general music at Grandview Elementary School in Erie, along with beginning band, orchestra, and chorus. She also coaches three levels of string ensembles with the Erie Junior Philharmonic and is an active performer and composer in the area. She earned her Music Together Certification in 2018 and currently teaches mixed-age classes at Music Together with Ms. Mary in Erie. Mariana holds a B.M. in Music Education from Mercyhurst University, as well as a M.M. in Music Education from Northwestern University. Her research interests include culturally responsive teaching practices, string pedagogy, and child development.
