Joe Adserias-Garriga is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Applied Forensic Sciences. Dr. Adserias-Garriga received her dental degree from the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya in Barcelona, Spain, and earned two doctoral degrees: Molecular and Cellular Biology from Universitat Internacional de Catalunya and Forensic Anthropology from Cambridge International University. She is also a Diplomate in the American Board of Forensic Odontology. Dr. Adserias-Garriga has directed and lectured in different postgraduate programs in forensic science. She is an external advisor to the Mossos d´Esquadra (Catalonian Police) who honored her in 2015 for her contribution in forensic casework. Dr. Adserias-Garriga recently worked as a forensic anthropologist at the Forensic Anthropology Center at Texas State University in the Operation Identification project assisting in the identification and repatriation of unidentified human remains found along the South Texas border. She has conducted research collaborations with different entities in the United States and Europe and is a member of the INTERPOL Disaster Victim Identification (DVI) Odontology Sub Working Group and the INTERPOL DVI Pathology-Anthropology Sub Working Group.
