In her former roles as Vice President of Academic Affairs, Director of the Center for Teaching Excellence, and Faculty Senate President, Dr. Hosey-McGurk has had a wealth of experience in university leadership. Her interest in writing pedagogy, classical mythology, medieval literature, Irish literature and culture, as well as gender studies informs her teaching and drives her research interests. As a staunch advocate for Mercyhurst’s varied study abroad programs, Dr. Hosey-McGurk has accompanied students to France, Italy, the Galapagos Islands, and Spain. She regularly teaches Irish history and culture to students at our Dungarvan campus in Ireland.
