Assistant Professor
Dr. Daryl Georger is an Assistant Professor in the Hospitality Management Department. Dr. Georger’s background includes over forty years of professional work experience in hospitality consulting and designing, specifying, and engineering foodservice facilities. During his tenure at Mercyhurst University, Dr. Georger has taught in 10 Hospitality Industry/business subject areas, has coached two athletic teams, and was the Faculty Athletic Representative serving the university, the PSAC conference, and the NCAA. Dr. Georger has conducted/presented at numerous workshops and presentations including his most recent at the national PCMA conference for convening leaders. In addition, Dr. Georger serves/has served on numerous boards and university committees. Dr. Georger has applied for and received numerous grants/scholarships including the Statler Foundation, The Marriott Foundation, and the Ahlef. Dr. Georger’s research areas include topics in hospitality engineering, quality, and the use of adjunct faculty in hospitality education.
Dr. Georger holds an undergraduate degree from the School of Hotel Administration at Cornell University, a Master’s Degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management from the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts, and a Doctorate from Duquesne University.
