Dr. McFee taught full-time at Mercyhurst University from 2002-2017, attaining the rank of full professor. In 2015 he won the Mercyhurst Teaching Excellence Award. He previously served as the Chair of Religious Studies and the Co-Director of the Evelyn Lincoln Institute for Ethics and Society. He now lives in Fort Collins, Colorado, teaching part-time for Mercyhurst (online) and for Colorado State University—Global.
