Why our Students Enjoy it

The University Honors program offers students an enriched intellectual collegiate experience, both in and out of the classroom. Honors students enjoy:

  • Challenging course work.
  • Engaging community of like-minded peers.
  • Smaller classes.
  • Opportunities to enhance leadership and professional skills.
  • Graduating with Mercyhurst honors, the highest academic accolade given by Mercyhurst University, on those who satisfy the program requirements.

How to Qualify

The director of the Honors program typically invites qualified high school seniors to apply to the program through the admissions process. Students who qualify will find an invitation to apply letter from the director along with their acceptance letter. Students who feel they should have received an invitation but did not or have questions about the admissions process should contact Mr. Joe Chiprean at jchiprean@mercyhurst.edu or 814-824-3364.

Students already studying at the university and students transferring from other institutions are welcome to discuss participation with the director, Dr. Justin Ross.
