"Peacemaking on the Borders" Guest Lecture

Mercyhurst welcomes Magdalena Łuczak of Poland, an activist providing humanitarian assistance to people in crisis at the Polish-Belarusian border. Łuczak is part of Grupa Granica (the Border Group), an informal network of organizations and individuals working together to address challenges migrants have encountered at the Polish-Belarusian border since August 2021. Łuczak’s work echoes the critical concern for immigrants and refugees of the Sisters of Mercy.

Her talk is in conjunction with the Presbyterian Peacemaking Program and the Presbytery of Lake Erie, and is sponsored by the Department of Anthropology and World Languages and the Evelyn Lincoln Institute for Ethics and Society.
