ARTy Party Auction & Lottery

The Mercyhurst School of the Arts is hosting its first annual ARTy Party Auction to raise funds for the “Excellence in the Arts” fund on October 1, 2024. This fund will offer scholarship opportunities for research grants, student audition funds, and other scholarship needs.

The funds generated from the VIP Reception and Lottery: showcase performance, silent auction, basket raffle, and major prize drawing will help support the exceptional faculty and student body in their visual and performance research, as well as conference and audition attendance. It will enable students to earn scholarships to travel for auditions and presentations, while also supporting the artistic efforts of the School of the Arts.

Thank you from the bottom of our heARTS.

An hour-long reception in the art gallery with hors d’oeuvres, wine, and beer, featuring a signature drink. The works for the art lottery and online silent auction will be on display for your review. The basket raffle and major prize raffle will also be active.

For every 12 VIP tickets sold, a piece of art will be given away to a VIP attendee. Does it get better than that? Yes — if you are a lottery winner, you will get to select the artwork from our gallery walls. So, spend some time looking when at the reception, you could be a winner! If all VIP tickets are sold, there will be 10 opportunities to give away artworks. The number of lottery opportunities is based on the number of VIP tickets sold. So, invite your friends!

The Mercyhurst School of the Arts houses the oldest major on the campus, Art Education, listed in the first catalog in 1926. It is also home to the D’Angelo Department of Music, Dance Department, and Theatre Program, as well as Art, Design, and Communication majors. Our majors perform regularly in high-level productions of Swan Lake, Midsummer’s Night’s Dream, Three Penny Opera, The Seagull, Jazz Ensemble, and various student performances. In the Art, Design, and Communication Department, students are engaged in art-making for shows in our Cummings Art Gallery and problem-solving for regional non-profits and businesses through design applications, such as logo development. In the 2023-24 school year, the School of the Arts produced more than 74 performances.
