Depression as a Wilderness Experience: One Theological Resource for Life with Depression
Presented by Jessica Coblentz, Ph.D.

When depression sufferers turn to faith communities for help, some find solace in the theological and practical responses they receive while many others are left searching. This lecture adds to the Christian theological resources available to depression sufferers by exploring an understanding of depression as a wilderness experience.

Dr. Jessica Coblentz is an associate professor at Saint Mary’s College in Notre Dame, Indiana, where her teaching and research focus on Catholic systematic theology, feminist theologies, and mental health in theological perspective.
