Many of our programs are recognized for their excellence and distinctiveness, as well as the skills and achievements of our graduates. Consult the Academic Alignment for Wheeling Jesuit Students.

We are committed to keeping you on pace for timely degree completion. Each student will be assigned a faculty advisor and an academic counselor to assist you in reaching your goals. We are committed to ensuring the transferability of credits earned at Wheeling Jesuit.

Cost and Financial Aid

Mercyhurst is committed to providing students with financial assistance proportionate to the aid they received at Wheeling Jesuit. Please send us your financial aid letter and/or previous semester’s bill and we will work with you to achieve commensurate award packages. To be considered for financial aid, you must re-file or submit a correction to your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and include Mercyhurst University. Our school code is 003297. (Due to NCAA regulations, Mercyhurst may be unable to match athletic scholarships.)

Housing and Residence Life

Transfer students have a variety of housing options available, including traditional residence halls and apartments and townhouses. Students living in residence halls must meet minimum meal plan requirements. Learn more about Mercyhurst dining services

Campus Life

Located in a quiet neighborhood in Erie, Pennsylvania, on a hill overlooking Lake Erie, our campus is known as one of the most beautiful in the region. Throughout our sprawling, gated campus, you will find elements of English Gothic architecture as well as state-of-the-art learning spaces.

At Mercyhurst, you'll find plenty of opportunities to get involved in student life, thanks to our numerous campus traditions, events, and student clubs and organizations. Our campus is also home to the Mercyhurst Institute of Art and Culture, which annually hosts over 140 performances. Laker athletics enhance our campus vibrancy with 25 teams competing at the NCAA Divison I and Divsion II levels.

Our top priority is the safety and wellbeing of all our students. Our health and counseling staff are always available, free of charge. Our Office of Police and Safety keeps our community safe with 24/7/365 patrols.

Let's Get Started!

Mercyhurst strives to make transferring as simple and straightforward as possible. To achieve this goal, we have recently simplified our process. The result is an intuitive and streamlined procedure for applying and enrolling.

To apply, all transfer applicants must submit the following documents:

  • Official high school transcripts, if you have completed fewer than 24 college credits.
  • Official transcripts from all previous colleges and universities. (Unofficial transcripts are acceptable at the time of application. Once admitted and confirmed, students must submit official transcripts.)

Letters of recommendation are optional.
