MNE announces graduation award recipients

Mercyhurst North East will hold its 2019 Spring Commencement on Saturday, May 11, at 3 p.m. in Ligouri Fieldhouse.

Among the 177 graduates are the following award recipients:

Jacob Seely, an ASN major, has been chosen to receive the Medal of Honor, the highest award presented to a graduating student at Mercyhurst North East, and will be the student speaker at graduation. Jaouad Azzab, an adult computer systems support major, will receive the Robert S. Miller Award, and the Redemptorist Fathers Award goes to Jillian Berguson, a health studies major.

The McAuley Award, presented to an associate degree candidate who has attained the highest grade point average in the graduating class, goes to Alyssa Johnston, a respiratory therapy major, and Anna-Marie Labowski, an occupational therapy assistant major.

Wanda Santiago will receive the Letoinne Barnett Memorial Award, given to a graduate of the Booker T. Washington Campus who most exemplifies the "Carpe Diem Spirit" exhibited by Barnett.

Chosen to receive Program Awards are Bryce Bentley, business administration; William Schutte, computer systems support; Wilmari Guzman, criminal justice; David Roman, culinary arts and hospitality management; Nia Phillips, liberal arts; Hannah Lordi, medical laboratory technician; Erin Rodriguez, associate of science in nursing; Jessica Miles, occupational therapy assistant; Jasmine Bailey, physical therapist assistant; and Alyssa Johnston, respiratory therapist.
