Tricia Mahoney has been a Physical Therapist since 1987. She has been involved in Physical Therapy education for more than 26 years, first as a clinical instructor, then as adjunct faculty in the Gannon University Physical Therapy program. Tricia began her career with Mercyhurst University in March, 2014 when she assumed the role of Academic Coordinator of Clinical Education. Tricia was previously a staff Physical Therapist and eventual Director of Physical Therapy at Shriners Hospital for Children where she worked for 25 years. In addition, she provided per diem Physical Therapy in the home health setting thru Community Nursing Services of North East for the past seven years.
Tricia received her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Mercyhurst University – Erie campus and her Physical Therapy degree from the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. She went on to complete her Masters degree in Health Sciences at the Krannert School of Physical Therapy in Indianapolis, IN. Tricia has been actively involved in the profession throughout her career, previously belonging to the Association of Children’s Prosthetic and Orthotic Clinics for 25 years presenting research at their national conferences. She also maintained membership in the Neurodevelopmental Therapy Association completing the 8 week pediatric certification course. Tricia currently maintains active membership with the American Physical Therapy Association.
