“You’ve heard the phrase ‘passion for fashion’…well, that’s me!"

Beyond the clothing itself, I’ve always had an interest in the actual fabric – what makes one item different from the next, why is that garment made from this material and not another?  I decided to pursue this interest further by obtaining a Master’s degree in Textiles and Apparel from North Carolina State University.  Textiles is just one of the areas in which I teach.  My other love is for the communication side of the industry, particularly fashion journalism and public speaking.  I believe it is important for students to be effective communicators – and I love sharing my experiences with them to help them succeed. My students take away the skills needed to write and speak professionally, as well as the confidence that comes along with it.  And trust me, nothing looks better than self-confidence!”
