“In Search of Simple Beauty” – a recital by D’Angelo Department of Music faculty member Dr. Scott Meier – will be an evening of soul-stirring and evocative music featuring artsong for saxophone and other elegant light classical music. The recital will be presented Wednesday, April 10, at 8 p.m. in Walker Recital Hall. Among the pieces are “Introduction and Samba” by Maurice Whitney; “Sonata” by Lawson Lunde; “Chanson et Passepied” by Jeanine Rueff; “Sicilienne” by Pierre Lantier; and “Sonatine Sportive” by Alexandre Tcherepnine. Sarah Kahl, an adjunct faculty member, is the collaborative pianist.
