The Tri-State Music Festival, now in its 14th year, brings advanced high school band musicians from throughout the region to the Mercyhurst University campus to rehearse for three days with Mercyhurst’s music faculty and guest clinicians. On Friday, Feb. 8, at 8 p.m. in the Mary D’Angelo Performing Arts Center, Mercyhurst University musicians present their annual Prism Concert in conjunction with the festival. The Mercyhurst Jazz Ensemble will perform some of its “greatest hits,” while the Wind Ensemble will feature student conductors and Alfred Reed’s arrangement of “Greensleeves.” Several instrumental soloists will also be featured. The Prism Concert, directed by Dr. Scott Meier, is free and open to the public. The festival culminates with a performance by the Honor Band on Saturday, Feb. 9, at 2 p.m. in the Mary D’Angelo Performing Arts Center. This concert is also free and open to the public.
