Patti LuPone: Don’t Monkey with Broadway
The Mercyhurst Institute for Arts & Culture closes out its 2018-19 Live Series with an appearance by Broadway legend Patti LuPone in Don’t Monkey with Broadway. The two-time Tony Award-winner explores, through indelible interpretations of classic Broadway show tunes by the likes of Richard Rodgers, Lorenz Hart, Jule Styne, Stephen Schwartz, Charles Strouse, Leonard Bernstein, Stephen Sondheim, Cole Porter and Irving Berlin, how her lifelong love affair with Broadway began and her concern for what the Great White Way is becoming today. Her concert is on Thursday, May 2, at 7:30 p.m. in the Mary D’Angelo Performing Arts Center. Tickets are $35 for adults, $30 for seniors, and $25 for students/youth.
NOTE: This concert is nearly sold-out. If additional tickets are available on the evening of the show, they’ll be sold to patrons waiting in the cancellation line on a first-come, first-served basis. The box office will open at 6:30 p.m., but patrons may start lining up earlier.
