direction of Thomas Brooks, showcases different choral forms of religious expression during its spring concert on Friday, April 27, at 7 p.m. in Walker Recital Hall. The program begins with pieces composed during the 15th, 17th and 18th centuries, including works from Mozart’s Missa Brevis in D, with soloists Maria Dombrowski, Caitlyn Cressley, Norman Mingolelli III and Nicholas Carver. It continues with pieces composed or arranged by 20th or 21st century composers. The "Fawcon" by 21st century composer Hubert Bird uses a medieval text to wed the past with the present. “Sustain Us” make use of "choralography," or movement with singing, to express the cycle of life and features soloist Joshua Phillips. The concert concludes with "Ride on King Jesus," a spiritual arranged by Hubert Bird. General admission tickets are $5; $2 for Mercyhurst students and staff and children 12 and under.
