Class of 2017 Honduras Mission Trip

In 2015, Six Mercyhurst Physician Assistant students from the Class of 2017 went on a medical mission trip to Honduras. The mission trip was hosted by International IMPACT through Medicine in Zambrano, Honduras with the Amor Sin Fronteras (Love without Borders) Ministry. While in this country, medical services were provided to over 500 Honduran patients who have limited access to medicine as most IMPACT clinics are in July and January, and are their only source of medical care. The care provided in Zambrano and the remote community of El Espino included preventative, acute and chronic care to patients of all ages. This experience in humanitarianism was invaluable and life changing!

Class of 2021 Mercyhurst Physician Assistant Student Society (MPASS)

Members of the Mercyhurst Physician Assistant Student Society (MPASS), advised by faculty member Robin Duke, raised money and collected goods this fall to benefit Susquehanna Service Dogs. The Pennsylvania Society of Physician Assistants (PSPA) challenged student members to the fundraising drive in conjunction with its annual convention, held in Lancaster Oct. 23-26, 2019. The Mercyhurst PA students raised almost $650 and collected five carloads of dog care items, toys, treats, office/cleaning supplies and gift cards for Susquehanna Service Dogs. The group raises, trains and places service dogs and hearing dogs to assist adults and children with disabilities to become more independent.
